About the role

  • The Admissions Counselor serves as a vital ambassador of the College, responsible for engaging and guiding prospective students and their families through the admissions process.
  • With a strong focus on accessibility and student success, this role engages with diverse populations—including first-generation students, adult learners, and transfer students—to promote awareness of academic programs, career pathways, and support services.
  • The Admissions Counselor assists applicants from initial inquiry through application acceptance.
  • Essential functions include reviewing applications and documents for completeness and eligibility; corresponding with prospective students via direct mail, telephone, and digital channels; collaborating with directors and counselors to review applicants and issue admissions offers; providing recommendations for process optimization; staying up to date on fraudulent application procedures; maintaining accurate documentation; contributing to recruitment campaigns and yield activities; staying current on institutional offerings and transfer agreements; supporting admissions and recruiting events as needed.
  • Clearance requirements: PA Child Abuse History Clearance; Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check; Federal Criminal History Background Check; Training Certificate - Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania.
  • Working conditions include Hybrid location (Remote and Warren Administrative Office); typical hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm Mon–Thu and 8:30 am–4:30 pm Fri; evening and weekend hours may be required; travel infrequent.

Requirements

  • Associate degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year’s experience in college admissions
  • Experience with database use and customer relationship management systems
