Project EHS Engineer – Site-based
NovonesisEHS Project Specialist ensuring safe construction and commissioning across overseas projects in regulated industries like food and pharma. Implementing EHS standards while working with multinational teams and contractors.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Represent the client side and support the implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards across an overseas project portfolio.
- Supporting implementation of EHS policies, standards and procedures across overseas projects
- Ensuring construction and commissioning activities comply with local EHS laws, company standards and applicable food/pharma GMP‑related EHS requirements
- Conducting EHS risk assessments, defining mitigation measures and following up on corrective actions
- Monitoring contractor compliance with site safety plans, method statements, permits to work and PPE requirements
- Performing site inspections and audits, identifying unsafe conditions or behaviors and driving preventive actions
- Supporting incident and near‑miss investigations, root cause analysis and lessons‑learned sharing across project sites
- Supporting environmental compliance related to waste, wastewater, air emissions, noise, dust and chemical handling
- Coordinating EHS inductions, toolbox talks and on‑site safety communication
- Preparing regular EHS reports, including KPIs, incidents, inspections and action tracking, for project and management teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or above in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of EHS experience in construction and/or industrial project environments
- Solid knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices for construction or industrial sites
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, inspections and incident investigations and follow through on corrective actions
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors and multinational teams
- Proactive, hands‑on mindset with willingness to spend significant time in the field
- English proficiency suitable for technical EHS communication, reporting and training
