About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and oversee Global Logistics & Distribution activities in the US
- Drive strategy execution, team development, and resource management
- Manage end-to-end performance, governance, distribution flows, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Oversee warehouse operations and outsourced 3PL/4PL partners
- Monitor performance, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvements
- Ensure GxP/GDP compliance, audit readiness, KPI management, and stakeholder collaboration
- Lead, coach, and develop team performance
- Manage daily operations, resources, and prioritization
- Drive change management and execution of HR processes
- Partner with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external providers for efficient, cost-optimized, customer-focused delivery
- Oversee order fulfilment, shipping, shipment tracking, and issue resolution
- Support process optimization, cost efficiency, and new product launches
- Lead US external warehouse inbound/outbound operations
- Implement global warehouse strategy and optimize outsourced operations using data analysis
- Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement across distribution workflows
- Analyse KPIs and prepare ad hoc distribution performance and compliance reports
- Support supply chain optimization and cost-efficiency projects, including 4PL setup and cross-SVP initiatives
- Lead standardization of shipping processes across Product Supply sites
- Ensure compliance through documentation, SOP adherence, employee training, and departmental procedures
- Follow safety and environmental requirements
- Ensure reporting personnel have individual development plans, annual goals, measurements, and interim reviews
- Manage the application and communication of Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field from an accredited university required
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in distribution, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management required
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct management experience required; three years of team lead or project manager experience may be considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage action plans to achieve targets required
- Demonstrated leadership, management, or supervisory experience preferred
- Proven process improvement and problem-solving skills preferred
- Strong LEAN and Flow skills preferred
- Knowledge of GxP and FDA regulations preferred
- Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance preferred
- Master's Degree preferred
- Ability to work in an open office environment with frequent distraction
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to develop individual development plans, annual goals, learning plans, and aspiration plans for reporting personnel
- Ability to manage Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way
- Ability to follow safety and environmental requirements
