About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a regional strategic medical leader, translating global medical strategy into executable plans across diverse markets
  • Influence, align and enable affiliates and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality medical initiatives that support in-line brands
  • Lead the regional publication strategy and scientific communications, ensuring evidence dissemination through peer-reviewed channels
  • Define and execute a regional KOL and Digital Opinion Leader engagement approach
  • Provide strategic medical leadership for Rare Disease product launches by shaping launch strategies
  • Drive medical education initiatives, congress contributions, and scientific meeting quality across affiliates
  • Champion digital-enabled Medical Affairs transformation across the region
  • Ensure all regional medical activities comply with applicable laws, company standards, and medical governance requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% across APAC to support affiliate engagement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • MD, PhD, or PharmD in a relevant scientific or medical field
  • Minimum 10 years in medical affairs, preferably within the rare disease therapy area
  • Proven expertise in scientific communication, clinical trials, drug development, life cycle management principles, and publication strategy
  • Experience engaging with Key Opinion Leaders and International Professional Associations
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills, with a successful track record of working in cross-functional teams
  • Digital agility and comfort working with digital tools, data, and insights to improve medical initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with high accountability and proactive issue identification
  • Communication skills that are scientific, executive-ready, and culturally sensitive for the APAC region
  • Ability to lead cross-country scientific initiatives, including advisory boards, congress participation, and other regional scientific engagement activities
  • Strong business understanding with the ability to drive regional Rare Disease medical operations in alignment with strategic business priorities
