About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration and improvement of selected infrastructure systems & platform systems
Evaluate existing supported virtualization and SAN systems and design proposed systems to ensure lifecycle management
Ensure that installation, troubleshooting, qualification & validation of infrastructure systems meets local and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with team to design, build, & operate the overall Virtualization environment including storage & backup of data
Assist in training team members to ensure coverage & business continuity through coaching and developing their knowledge and skill set
Serve as a primary support resource of IT platforms, providing Tier 2 and 3 support
Monitor systems & respond to IT incidents
Serve in the team’s on call rotation and provide after-hours support to the site
Ensure IT systems are available, capable, and accessible to meet production & business requirements
Manage IT department projects and support other business unit projects
Collaborate with Global IT Infrastructure groups
Support and practice IT Security
Comply with internal & external regulations & procedures
Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, Engineering, Automation, or relevant field of study from an accredited university required, with minimum of three (3) years of direct related experience
In lieu of a minimum of three (3) years of direct related experience, may consider a minimum of six (6) years of indirect experience
In lieu of BS Degree and three (3) years of direct related experience, may consider an Associate’s Degree in information technology, Engineering, Automation, or relevant field of study with a minimum of five (5) years of direct related experience or eight (8) years of indirect experience
In lieu of BS Degree and three (3) years of direct related experience, may consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with high level technical certifications (ex: VMWare Certified Professional, Citrix Certified Associate, Microsoft Server and Virtualization Certifications) and a minimum of seven (7) years of direct related experience or ten (10) years of indirect related experience required
Knowledge of Microsoft OS, Linux OS, Networking principles, and concepts of IT Security required
Experience in System Monitoring Tools, Domain Services, Backup Solutions, Deployment of Virtualized Servers, Patch Management, and IT Security required
Certification in an IT System Administration/Engineer discipline preferred
Strong technical background in IT Infrastructure systems required
Knowledge of VMware vSphere (Version 6+) preferred
EMC VPLEX Virtualized Storage Platform experience preferred
EMC VNX, UNITY storage array experience preferred
Fibre Channel Network Design, Implementation & Operational experience preferred
Backup IT Utilities including operational experience preferred
Automated control systems and knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies a plus
GxP Pharmaceutical Environment Experience a plus
