About the role
- Apply flow technology utilizing immobilized enzymes to develop the ligation reaction that is integral to our new approach to synthesis.
- Project responsibilities include the covalent immobilization of enzymes to resins, utilizing flow techniques to develop new methods for the ligation of fragments, and documenting scientific experiments.
- Specific opportunities to learn about and to utilize scientific equipment for nucleic acid synthesis and analysis techniques will be introduced.
- Techniques for immobilization, spectral determination of loading density, utilization of packed bed reactor systems for flow analysis, development of biocatalytic assays, and HPLC analysis will be applied within this project.
Requirements
- Must be a current student enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree
- An in progress undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or a related discipline preferred
- Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers
- Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
