About the role

  • The Category Manager is a pivotal role within the category management track, responsible for facilitating and driving category council with key stakeholders.
  • This role is crucial in defining and implementing category strategies for local and regional categories, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Additionally, the Category Manager is responsible for managing supplier relationships with relevant local and regional suppliers to optimize value and drive continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate and drive category council, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Lead regular meetings and workshops to advance category initiatives and strategic goals.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination across cross-functional teams.
  • Define and implement category strategies for local and regional categories in alignment with business objectives.
  • Conduct market and spend analysis to inform strategy development and identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor and review the performance of category strategies, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Execute processes and projects in accordance with guidelines and minimum requirements.
  • Manage relationships with relevant local and regional suppliers, fostering strong partnerships and driving supplier performance.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives and innovation opportunities.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects across Region China, ensuring alignment and integration of category strategies with broader business goals.

Requirements

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • More than 7 years of relevant experience within Category Management or Procurement.
  • Advanced in understanding, interpreting, generating, and managing contracts, with a comprehensive understanding of the legal aspects related to procurement.
  • Advanced in developing and implementing long-term strategies that consistently align with organizational goals and optimize category performance.
  • Expertise in managing the entire procurement process, from purchase requisition to invoice payment.
