About the role
- Lead a team of dedicated scientists and technicians to accelerate and advance the Diabetes portfolio
- Empower and deliver world-class scientific and technical expertise within diabetes and islet biology
- Prioritize departmental efforts to align with overall priorities
- Collaborate with colleagues across Global Research to define novel approaches to target discovery using advanced bioinformatics and human in vitro systems
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in human biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or closely related disciplines
- 8+ years of experience working with research, biotech, or industry within the area of obesity and/or diabetes
- Proven track record of leading scientific teams within cardiometabolic diseases preferentially within Diabetes
- Strong analytical skills including proficiency within genetics, omics data and computational biology approaches
- Project leadership experiences leading to successful gate passages
- A broad international scientific network
- Ability to balance high and complex workloads and well-being of your team
- Goal oriented with a focus on delivering to the Diabetes portfolio
