About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support creation and update of a holistic Therapeutic Area strategy
  • Provide early-phase commercial insights to project teams
  • Guide therapeutic-area-specific internal pipeline development and external licensing/acquisition opportunities
  • Support integrated enterprise alignment across Biomedical Research, Development, Strategy & Growth, and Commercial US and International units
  • Bring external benchmarking, analysis, insights, and judgement to support sustainable short-, mid-, and long-term growth
  • Apply pharmaceutical-industry and Oncology & Hematology knowledge to derive differentiating competitive advantages
  • Provide commercial insights to R&D project teams, particularly for early-phase programs
  • Analyze reports and publications to extract key messages, including building product forecasts
  • Support development and delivery of strategic external insights
  • Identify growth opportunities and emerging competitive challenges
  • Create third-party views around key strategic levers and commission targeted primary research

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD or other advanced University degree) and/or equivalent experience in life science/healthcare; MBA or consulting or equivalent experience highly preferred
  • In-depth Therapeutic Area knowledge in Oncology and/or Hematology, or track record to acquire the expertise rapidly
  • Capacity to support multiple strategic disease areas and programs
  • Substantial experience evaluating new product opportunities through M&A, BD&L, and internal research programs
  • 7–10 years of pharmaceutical industry and/or medical device experience
  • Experience in Research & Development and/or commercial functions
  • Experience conducting, commissioning, and analyzing primary research
  • Experience developing strategy and shaping assets early in the lifecycle
  • Recent (post-2015) local US in-market experience with US customers and healthcare systems
