About the role
- Lead the therapeutic area and portfolio strategy
- Serve as a thought partner for the NS & GTx Head and leadership team
- Collaborate with key stakeholders along the R-D-C continuum
- Oversee program execution by actively partnering with Global Program Heads
- Monitor external landscape and assessments impact on portfolio
- Lead governance, effective discussion and quality decision making at NS & GTx Leadership team
- Manage the NS & GTx Operational Manager(s) and direct reports
- Accountable for external annual DU budget and manage department headcount
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent education/degree in life sciences or healthcare
- 10+ years of drug development experience
- Knowledge of drug development strategy
- 5+ years people and matrix management experience
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Considerable organizational awareness, including significant experience working cross-functionally and in global teams
- Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams
- Advanced planning and project management skills, with understanding of business processes
- MD, PhD or MBA highly desired (desired)
