About the role

  • Seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Programmer Analyst 4 for the City of Richmond DIT Utilities team.
  • Provide web-based solutions and support to existing applications.
  • Application integration including designing, developing, and supporting applications using Oracle database (11g+), PL-SQL, and Unix Shell Scripting.
  • Document work to be performed (requirements gathering, design/analysis, technical specifications, code, implementation, and support).
  • Develop and execute database queries to generate reports and aid in data analysis.
  • Learn different technologies, both currently in use and new.
  • Work directly with programming staff and users to analyze and develop applications to improve business operations within City of Richmond departments.

Requirements

  • Experience with Oracle database (11g and above) — 7 years
  • Experience with PL-SQL — 7 years
  • Experience with Unix Shell Scripting — 7 years
  • Experience in requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation planning, and testing — 5 years
  • Experience supporting Java — 3 years
  • Experience with Oracle Forms (10g and above), SQL Server, and web services/service oriented architecture — 3 years
  • Experience working with source control (RCS or Team Foundation Server) — 3 years
  • Experience with reporting technologies such as Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) — 3 years
  • Skills in application design, software development, documentation, and customer service
