About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Interface with relevant departments to understand NOV products and their safe operation, testing, calibration, and problem resolution
Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair, and train customers on NOV products
Perform field software and hardware upgrades and train customers on system operation
Communicate field failures and feedback reports to appropriate departments
Complete and submit field service documentation promptly
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair drilling equipment
Provide training to other NOV Field Service Technicians
Provide accurate and timely work-progress and output reports
Work in the repair shop when needed
Comply with NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures
Perform other assigned work-related tasks

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience
Microsoft Office knowledge
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and basic electrical drawings
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and basic hand tools
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Valid driver's license required
Must provide transportation from home to the office; transportation to customer locations is provided
Must obtain and maintain an active NOV corporate credit card
Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, overtime, and on-call 24/7
Ability to interact effectively with customers and contractors
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work in a team environment and independently
Willingness to comply with safety regulations and procedures
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to adapt and be cross-trained
Ability to work in harsh environments including rain, snow, heat, and heights exceeding 150 feet
