About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and commercialize electrical and electromechanical products from concept through production release.
- Define system architecture and integrate hardware, software, controls, sensors, communication interfaces, and mechanical subsystems into complete operational solutions.
- Develop, test, and debug embedded firmware and support hardware/software integration activities.
- Create and execute verification and validation plans, including laboratory and field testing.
- Support product certification efforts for hazardous locations, EMC, electrical safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project teams to support product launches and ongoing product improvements.
- Provide sustaining engineering support through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, reliability improvements, corrective actions, and component obsolescence management.
- Research emerging technologies and evaluate new design approaches to improve product performance, reliability, and competitiveness.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Firmware development experience using C/C++ and embedded systems.
- Experience with sensors, signal conditioning, data acquisition, and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with Modbus, CAN, Ethernet, RS-485, or similar industrial communication protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Preferred: Experience supporting hazardous locations or other certification activities.
- Preferred: Experience with hazardous area products and industrial instrumentation.
