Area Sales Manager
NOVArea Sales Manager responsible for driving sales growth across a defined territory. Leading and developing high-performing sales distribution and executing data-driven plans to expand market presence.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee sales performance across multiple areas, ensuring teams meet/exceed quotas.
- Train and coach sales reps, promoting best practices and professional development.
- Identify and address underperformance through mentorship, improvement plans, or corrective action.
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies, including cold-call scripts, promotional campaigns, and client outreach plans.
- Conduct market research and analysis for regional expansion efforts, identifying key competitors and customer demographics.
- Set individual and distribution benchmarks aligned with overall organizational goals, using data to track and adjust tactics.
- Approve and manage regional sales budgets, travel expenses, and cost-control strategies.
- Coordinate with operations and logistics to ensure product availability and fulfillment.
- Deliver presentations and sales training to internal teams or external stakeholders as needed.
- Use forecasting and sales analytics to differentiate between normal variances and downward trends.
- Domestic travel may be required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of sales experience, including 2–3 years in a leadership or regional management role.
- Experience conducting market analysis and leading regional expansions.
- Strong understanding of sales pipeline management and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, D365).
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally work extended hours.
- Ability to manage multiple teams, deadlines, and performance benchmarks simultaneously.
- Strong ethical judgment and decision-making abilities, especially in budget or policy-related matters.
