About the role

  • Provide Level 2/3 support for Windows Server environments and file/print services.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and respond to incidents related to performance, access, storage, and VM health.
  • Respond to alerts, troubleshoot system issues, and resolve service disruptions in accordance with defined SLAs.
  • Assist with Linux system support when necessary, escalating advanced issues as needed.
  • Support and perform basic administration tasks within VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
  • Support operational tasks in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Troubleshoot issues with monthly patching for Windows Server systems.
  • Validate OS and security patches in compliance with governance policies.
  • Assist with Red Hat Linux patching and validation under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Monitor system performance and availability using enterprise tools.
  • Respond to system alerts and proactively identify performance or capacity issues.
  • Maintain system logs and contribute to incident analysis and reporting.
  • Document issues and contribute to problem management and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering team to troubleshoot storage alerts.
  • Work with infrastructure, networking, Linux, and application teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and support runbooks.
  • Follow ITIL-aligned processes for incident, change, and request management.
  • Use or modify PowerShell, Ansible or Python scripts to streamline support tasks or report generation.
  • Assist in automation initiatives led by the infrastructure engineering team.
  • Support system hardening and vulnerability remediation in collaboration with security teams.
  • Ensure systems meet internal compliance standards and assist with audit documentation.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, and basic file and print services administration.
  • Experience with patching tools such as SCCM, WSUS, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Red Hat or other Linux distributions, with the ability to assist in basic system troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or OCI) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Basic scripting skills in PowerShell; familiarity with Bash or Python is a plus.
  • Experience supporting shared file systems, permissions, and print infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Linux tools such as Red Hat Satellite or Ansible is a plus
