About the role

  • Support food logistics and volunteer management at both of Nourishing Hope’s warehouse locations.
  • Lead shifts of volunteers, including teaching them to sort through incoming food donations and to build and wrap pallets.
  • Manage deliveries of food going to other locations; ensure correct food is sent according to truck schedules.
  • Act as an ambassador to incoming volunteers, educating them about Nourishing Hope's mission and functions.
  • Support training for volunteers and staff to ensure consistent warehouse standards.
  • Operate a forklift, pallet stacker, and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain an inventory of the warehouse and enter inventory into spreadsheets.
  • Assist in maintaining the warehouses, including reporting safety hazards and general cleaning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; higher education is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Experience training or supervising other people.
  • Ability to lead groups of people working on multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Logistical, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively handle shifting and multiple priorities.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Solid computer skills including a working knowledge of Google Sheets.
  • An understanding of, and belief in, the importance of food security for everyone.
