About the role
- Lead and manage all general accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and fixed asset management.
- Spearhead the accurate and timely recognition of SaaS revenue in accordance with ASC 606 standards and other applicable GAAP pronouncements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, providing actionable insights for leadership.
- Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and product teams to ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and contract management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department, including automation of processes and optimization of financial systems.
- Manage external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 4-5 years specifically in a Controller or Senior Accounting role within a SaaS company. 3-5 years of people management experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and their application in a SaaS environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to manage and optimize accounting processes and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to grow and develop a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
