About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct video, telephone, and in-person interviews to evaluate and analyze claims
Investigate contestable death claims for Life Benefits
Settle and negotiate Overpayments of benefits
Handle NM Group Claims, LTC, Compliance, Law and other areas of the company
Assist in investigations including suspected fraud, diminished capacity, elder abuse
Provide detailed written reports on all interviews conducted
Prepare and attach accurate file documentation on claims
Promote NM’s brand and image during interactions with policyholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years of complex disability or life claims handling experience
Investigative background is desired
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Proficiency with laptop computers and utilizing software such as MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, Slack, Dragon, and other technologies
Ability to travel by air, rail or vehicle and work nights/weekends when required
Completion of industry courses as required by company.
Excellent personal financial management and credit history.
