About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Keep hardware systems, associated operating systems, and connectivity capabilities fully operational and integrated into the NMHC IT environment
- Monitor, analyze, and plan upgrades to ensure adequate system capacity and availability
- Provide technical leadership and support for computing systems and systems integration
- Conduct and present performance and capacity analyses to assure system reliability
- Diagnose and coordinate problem determination and resolution across the server/distributed systems environment, including vendors and manufacturers
- Respond to customer needs, manage customer relationships, and follow issues through closure
- Support application teams with project and support activities
- Participate in project teams and communicate project goals and objectives
- Determine strategy for system-to-network connectivity and interfacing
- Review technology projects, analyze business requirements, recommend system changes, write technical specifications, and implement changes
- Develop project plans, scopes, effort projections, schedules, and final plans with project managers
- Establish and enforce local area network standards, policies, and procedures
- Participate in long- and short-range technology planning
- Integrate vendor, manufacturer, and subject-matter technical knowledge into NMHC
- Mentor immediate team members and application team members
- Contribute to the IS Knowledge Repository
- Provide required on-call support
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in the core discipline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in the core discipline in the healthcare industry preferred
- Ability to provide on-call support
- Ability to support computing systems, systems integration, server/distributed systems, and system-to-network connectivity
- Ability to analyze business requirements, write technical specifications, and implement system changes
- Broad working knowledge of NMHC IT server/distributed systems environment
