About the role
- Follows ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting
- Utilizes technical coding expertise to assign ICD-10-CM and/or CPT-4 codes
- Reviews the medical record thoroughly for appropriate diagnoses and procedures
- Interprets health record documentation using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical disease process
- Resolves specific Chargemaster NCCI or other outpatient edit claim failures
Requirements
- Credentialed by AHIMA or AAPC
- CE requirement of 20-30 CE's every two years
- RHIT, RHIA, CCS or COC credentialed
- 2 years of related work experience in an Acute care setting
- 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
