About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Initiate contacts to develop and close new business
- Collaborate across investments, mortgage, small business, trust, lending, and other Northwest products and services
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with business and community referral sources
- Discuss financial planning and gather corporate or personal financial background information
- Develop a high community profile
- Utilize the Northwest office network for referrals and prospects
- Communicate on the development of new business accounts
- Meet or exceed annual production guidelines
- Complete financial profiles, analyze customer needs, and prepare proposals
- Recommend appropriate products and services
- Perform presentations, meetings, and seminars with prospects
- Cross-sell Northwest products and services
- Provide periodic product and services training for Retail Office and Northwest Department personnel
- Ensure compliance with FINRA/SEC regulations and requirements for licensed representatives
- Monitor client accounts and schedule periodic client meetings
- Review financial and investment markets daily
- Minimize nonstandard fee schedules
- Ensure compliance with Northwest policies, procedures, and Federal/State regulations
- Use Microsoft Office, department software, and on-site equipment
- Assist with personal goals, sales and procedure improvements, marketing initiatives, and product/service offerings
- Discourage unsafe work habits and enforce safe work practices for employees
- Ensure employees know emergency procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6–8 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related degree preferred
- Knowledge of the securities industry, investment and insurance products and services
- Knowledge of private banking products and services, including credit processes and policies
- Ability to present investment strategies using a holistic planning approach
- Strong relationship management, sales, and new business skills
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze financial data
- Knowledge of mutual funds, stocks, and bonds
- Knowledge of investment markets, economic fundamentals, and available products and services
- Knowledge of custodian accounts, financial planning, investments, IRAs, estates, fiduciary matters, ERISA, brokerage account types, and private banking products
- Series 7 license in relevant states upon hire
- Life/Accident/Health license in relevant states upon hire
- Series 63 license in relevant states upon hire
- Series 65 license in relevant states upon hire or Series 66 license in relevant states upon hire
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and department-specific computer applications
- Ability to establish working relationships, communicate clearly, listen actively, plan work, and exercise analytical judgment
