About the role
- Completes or supervises completion of investigations of allegations such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and policy violations
- Coaches and educates HR Partners and NorthStar people managers on implementing resolutions for behavioral and performance management challenges
- Supplies guidance to people managers in composing all corrective actions or performance reviews
- Enters, supports, and updates all incidents, complaints, and investigations to the company’s incident management system
- Manages relationships with union representatives
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor and employee relations
- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in discussing and/or negotiating controversial and/or confrontational situations
- Ability to present educational material for conducting training and education sessions
- Must work independently, collaboratively, and with direction
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Office 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to compose reports, memos, letters, and other correspondence
- Experience working in a complex business environment with 24x7 shifts essential
