About the role

  • Program/System Level role partnering with MOD/SIM Lead within Directorate of Engineering
  • Work on system performance analysis and system level modeling based on lower-level component and segment models produced by other teams
  • Model interactions (electrical, mechanical, thermal, digital, etc.) among lower-level modelled components to analyze performance
  • Model fabrication/factory performance (e.g., using FlexSim)
  • Support model verification and validation to enable success at milestone test and demonstration events
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate component models and capture system configurations and performance values
  • Serve on-site in Redondo Beach, CA or the greater Baltimore, MD area
  • Position contingent upon acquiring and maintaining a US Government security clearance per customers' requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with at least 5 years of experience OR
  • 3 years with Master's Degree OR
  • 1 years with a PhD (Principal level)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least 8 years of experience OR
  • 6 years with Master's Degree OR
  • 4 years with a PhD (Senior Principal level)
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes
  • Ability to apply M&S expertise through technology processes, methodologies, standards, or frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in applying STAT/DOE tools and methodologies in an integrated test environment
  • Expertise with various types of Modeling & Simulation tools, such as Python, MATLAB, COMSOL, FlexSim
  • Demonstrated experience with MBSE to include defining analysis with parametric diagrams and capturing different system configurations and performance values
  • Demonstrated experience performing model verification and validation as well as Verification and Validation
  • Current Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI and a Polygraph prior to start
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Preferred: Current Active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Preferred: STEM degree in mathematics, physics, or in EE, ME, or CE
  • Preferred: General mathematical background in linear algebra and differential equations
  • Preferred: Background in statistics, including hypothesis testing, goodness of fit, and Bayesian statistics
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools: Jira or Confluence
