About the role

  • Develop and manage comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities.
  • Establish business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the US government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations.
  • Execute operational processes to ensure regulatory trade compliance through gate reviews of technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits and export and import shipments.
  • Maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform compliance assessments to support investigations involving potential instances of non-compliance.
  • Support performance metrics for export processes.
  • Collaborate with various functional areas to develop and implement appropriate authorization strategies to meet business requirements and ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Determine and validate appropriate commodity jurisdiction and classification.
  • Independently assess transactions and determine applicability of internal gate reviews, licenses, exceptions, and exemptions.
  • Assist in the review of export/import clauses in Statements of Work and Non-Disclosure Agreements and provide recommendations regarding potential impact to business activity.
  • Review and disposition public release requests.
  • Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of trade compliance policies and procedures as necessary to support portfolio.
  • Act as the prime contact on contracts or projects, internal working groups, and/or capture activities.
  • Interact with senior internal and external personnel often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Exercise good judgment of when to seek management support and guidance as needed, including collaborating on decisions which have the potential to be high visibility or impactful.
  • Develop and deliver presentations, including Export General Awareness training, program/function specific export training, lessons learned, and program/capture export licensing strategy updates to Division leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience (i.e. International Trade Compliance, ITC Licensing, etc.), or Master’s degree plus 1 year of relevant experience
  • Experience in utilizing and applying the ITAR and EAR
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required
  • Experience with OCR's EASE software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Experience in providing training
  • Experience in reading and interpreting regulations and applying changes to current procedures and practices
  • Experience in both DCS and FMS export requirements
  • Experience supporting business development activities
  • Active U.S. security clearance (Secret or above)
