Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate care for patients and their families, including direct care, patient and family education, and discharge planning
  • Assess patient needs and conditions by gathering relevant health information

  • Perform aseptic techniques and maintain sterile fields using disinfection, sterilization, and infection-control principles
  • Maintain infection-prevention standards
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Assist with procedures and patient transportation throughout the hospital
  • Provide leadership for ancillary personnel, serve as a team leader and preceptor, and participate actively in the healthcare team
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses
  • Report safety incidents and monitor the work environment for safety issues
  • Complete mandatory modules and job-specific training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016 must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position
  • Existing staff RNs hired before 7/1/2016 are not mandated to have a BSN
  • Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid participating compact license required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • PALS certification required within 90 days of hire
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • CSPAN certification preferred
  • Understanding of computers and competence using computers and basic software programs
  • Practice within the ANA Scope of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and specialty standards
  • Comply with healthcare regulatory, organizational, state, and federal requirements
  • Keep required certifications and licenses current
  • Complete mandatory training within required time frames
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
