About the role

  • Open, review, date-stamp, scan, label, and distribute incoming mail to teams or departments.
  • Identify and forward misdirected correspondences to appropriate internal departments.
  • Process correspondences from payers and patients (authorizations, complaints, inquiries).
  • Review payment correspondences and distribute to appropriate teams for action.
  • Review incoming faxes and distribute to appropriate personnel.
  • Receive and forward patient payments and manage payment postings and EOBs.
  • Print and mail applications, letters, appeals, and documentation, with certification as required.
  • Work ROI requests, settlement requests, attorney communications, legal offers, bankruptcy notices and deceased accounts.
  • Manage insurance claims printing/sending and apply adjustments per court orders.
  • Investigate and resolve returned mail using address validation tools.
  • Conduct account reviews to confirm correct billing.
  • Report safety incidents through Midas/RDE and complete mandatory training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in healthcare billing, medical office, or administrative support - Preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, email platforms, fax and scanning systems.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical billing systems (e.g., Cerner, HealthLogic) is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of mail and documentation efficiently and accurately.
  • Understanding of computers and competence in using basic software programs.
