About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage day-to-day Security Services operations across all Southern Market facilities
- Select, assign, hire, coach, develop, and evaluate security supervisors and staff
- Monitor and evaluate security programs through site reviews, vulnerability assessments, code drills, audits, and reports
- Develop and implement corrective action plans
- Establish relationships with hospital leadership, staff, patients, visitors, government representatives, law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies
- Plan, develop, and implement security, emergency response, crisis management, physical security, information and asset protection, incident management, and investigation programs
- Perform annual risk analyses for crime, security incidents, workplace violence, and disaster threats
- Advise supervisors and officers on security policies and practices
- Prepare and manage annual operating and capital expense budgets
- Maintain security activity statistics and provide monthly analysis and annual reports
- Review, recommend changes to, and implement security policies
- Develop and coordinate security training programs
- Collaborate with IT on CCTV, access control, radio communications, and other security technology systems
- Guide scheduling, staffing, shift assignments, overtime control, and security rounds
- Conduct safety and security surveys of lighting, emergency phones, alarms, and monitoring systems
- Ensure training, PPE, required gear, professional appearance, and policy compliance
- Oversee environmental safety, security, and emergency management plans to meet NGHS, federal, state, DNV, and CMS requirements
- Track department performance benchmarks and complete required reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- IAHSS Supervisor Certification required
- Minimum of 5 years as a healthcare security officer
- 3–5 years of prior healthcare security leadership experience required
- GA POST, CHPA, or CPP preferred
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to handle daily and crisis situations, including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to identify and solve problems and engage supervisors and staff in achieving security program goals
- Ability to manage authority and maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, and report systems
- Must be able to engage in physical defense systems, including weapons, defensive tactics, and patient restraints
- Ability to work at the Braselton campus and Barrow
- Ability to travel in the region and work a flexible schedule as needed
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
- Ability to use required PPE and security equipment
