About the role

  • Responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation
  • Facilitates modifications to clinical documentation through interaction with physicians and staff to ensure appropriate reimbursement
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of clinical information for measuring and reporting outcomes
  • Educates team members on coding and documentation requirements
  • Conducts ongoing follow-up reviews and interacts with healthcare providers to improve documentation

Requirements

  • Current RN Licensure in the State of Georgia
  • Associates Degree
  • Five (5) years in the practice of professional nursing
  • CCDS or CDIP preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Additional education in Finance, Healthcare regulations and diagnoses-procedure coding preferred
  • Experience in Healthcare Utilization and Revenue Management preferred
  • Demonstrates aptitude in critical care or medical-surgical nursing
  • Familiar with ICD10 coding conventions, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, MSDRG reimbursement, coding software (preferably 3M 360 Encompass)
