About the role
- Responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation
- Facilitates modifications to clinical documentation through interaction with physicians and staff to ensure appropriate reimbursement
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of clinical information for measuring and reporting outcomes
- Educates team members on coding and documentation requirements
- Conducts ongoing follow-up reviews and interacts with healthcare providers to improve documentation
Requirements
- Current RN Licensure in the State of Georgia
- Associates Degree
- Five (5) years in the practice of professional nursing
- CCDS or CDIP preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Additional education in Finance, Healthcare regulations and diagnoses-procedure coding preferred
- Experience in Healthcare Utilization and Revenue Management preferred
- Demonstrates aptitude in critical care or medical-surgical nursing
- Familiar with ICD10 coding conventions, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, MSDRG reimbursement, coding software (preferably 3M 360 Encompass)
