Design and develop industrial and commercial structural systems
Produce and assemble a complete set of structural drawings and specifications
Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets
Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and federal laws and regulations and provide sound technical recommendations in writing
Apply innovative technical principles, practices, and theories to resolve technical issues
Perform field investigations, review as-built drawings, document findings, and provide written summary of observations, data collected, and photographs
Coordinate with Government client, team members, leadership, project stakeholders, and various regulatory agencies
Review technical reports, RFIs, designs, design changes, project deliverables, submittals, and cost proposals for compliance
Provide technical support for construction field activities, witness testing, and commissioning efforts
Prepare various permit applications and assist with calculations and report writing
Participate in site field investigations and client/user interviews to identify project needs, constraints and opportunities
Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and produce construction documents
Use computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis and presentations
Perform analyses, assemble analysis package for review, write specifications and produce structural drawings meeting client needs and code requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering college curriculum in Civil Engineering with a structural focus or related engineering degree
Minimum 10 years design experience
Demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, written reports and in briefing management personnel
Demonstrated knowledge of broad-based Architectural and Engineering principles
Sound understanding of technical concepts, principles, and practices applicable to multi-discipline engineering project design and construction
Knowledge of construction practices and methods and construction management
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and verbally
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret contract documents
Ability to delegate tasks to others
Ability to manage projects from inception to completion
Detail-oriented time management with the ability to meet deadlines and focus on project schedules
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Read and interpret technical engineering drawings
Must be a US citizen, possess a passport, and have the ability to travel up to 25%
PE – U.S. Professional Engineering Registration
Holds an active Q-clearance
Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD (preferred)
Proficient use of engineering design software, such as Ram Structural System, Tekla, STAAD, Enercalc (preferred)
