About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures
  • Participating in preventative maintenance activities (both routine and project based)
  • Responsible for ensuring proper PLC functionality through routine checks and assistance in PLC programming
  • Supports and sponsors all continuous reliability improvement standards and practices
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
  • Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
  • Perform routine checks of PLC software/ hardware to ensure the proper functionality of the automated controls within the Extrusion Presses and rack-handling systems
  • Engage in continuous improvement and risk-prevention initiatives by crafting and installing new controls as needed (i.e. guarding on equipment)
  • Follows applicable Job Safety Analysis and Work Instructions
  • Understands and follows all safety policies
  • Able to work set schedule for full 12-hour shift
  • Work in both hot and cold conditions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma
  • PLC certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance / PLC experience is preferred
  • Electrical, Hydraulic, and/ or Pneumatic schooling/ certificates a plus
  • Basic computer application skills
  • Understanding of PLC functionality
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to use power tools and other industrial maintenance equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic applications
