About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures
Participating in preventative maintenance activities (both routine and project based)
Responsible for ensuring proper PLC functionality through routine checks and assistance in PLC programming
Supports and sponsors all continuous reliability improvement standards and practices
Implement preventative maintenance measures
Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary
Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
Perform routine checks of PLC software/ hardware to ensure the proper functionality of the automated controls within the Extrusion Presses and rack-handling systems
Engage in continuous improvement and risk-prevention initiatives by crafting and installing new controls as needed (i.e. guarding on equipment)
Follows applicable Job Safety Analysis and Work Instructions
Understands and follows all safety policies
Able to work set schedule for full 12-hour shift
Work in both hot and cold conditions

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma
PLC certification required
Minimum 2 years of maintenance / PLC experience is preferred
Electrical, Hydraulic, and/ or Pneumatic schooling/ certificates a plus
Basic computer application skills
Understanding of PLC functionality
Ability to read a tape measure
Basic mathematical skills
Ability to use power tools and other industrial maintenance equipment
Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic applications
