Maintenance Manager
Norsk HydroMaintenance Manager overseeing safety and operations of equipment and facilities at North Liberty and Elkhart plants. Responsible for capital projects, team leadership, and compliance.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the safety of the maintenance team and the efficient operation of all manufacturing equipment, buildings, and grounds
- Ensure that capital projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Maintain the overall health of the facility’s assets
- Support both the North Liberty and Elkhart plants
- Implement preventive maintenance plans and preservation activities, including lubrication, inspections, testing, and PMD
- Utilize predictive measures to enhance reliability
- Act swiftly to address breakdowns and unexpected issues
- Maintain the upkeep of facilities and grounds
- Ensure compliance with state regulations regarding water discharge
- Facilitate problem-solving sessions among operations, engineering, and maintenance to address and eliminate recurring failures
- Lead the maintenance team to focus on the right priorities while working safely and maintaining quality standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5-10 years in Maintenance
- 3-5 years leadership experience
- Engineering degree preferred or combination of technical school and experience in similar role
- Basic understanding of safety principles and risk recognition
- Familiarity with quality standards and housekeeping/organizational skills
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of CMMS, MVP, and blueprint reading
- Understanding of PLCs and proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to obtain project estimates and experience in project management
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team and delegate tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills
- Capable of leading and guiding others in decision-making and problem-solving
- Accepts constructive feedback with a positive attitude
- Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills
- Able to identify and communicate important information to key stakeholders
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Spanish-speaking skills are preferred but not required.
