Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain General Ledger Accounts : Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
Account Reconciliation: Perform regular balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Fixed Asset Accounting : Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, ensure accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of assets in accordance with accounting standards and company policy.
Monthly Closings : Prepare and execute timely financial closings, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Financial Reporting: Generate accurate financial statements and monthly group reporting in HFM Hyperion.
Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Compliance : Ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP, IFRS (limited), company policies and applicable regulations.
Tax reporting : Ensure accurate accounting of tax-related entries (VAT and Corporate tax). Prepare and submit periodic tax filings in compliance with local regulations.
Collaboration : Act as the primary point of contact for our Shared Service Centers (primarily AP).
Process Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and control in financial reporting.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to tax processes, ideally in an international environment.
Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP reporting standards.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
Well-organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented while maintaining a broader business perspective.
A proactive team player with strong communication skills.
Fluent in Dutch and English.
