Life Insurance Transformation Consultant

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Map and analyse the Life value chain — product, distribution, policy admin, in-force, claims, and pay-outs — surfacing pain points and opportunities.
- Co-design future-state journeys for individual and group life, unit-linked, branch 21/23, pensions (IORP II), and protection with product, actuarial, advisors, IT, and compliance.
- Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specs.
- Define and prioritise API integrations: policy admin, advisor portals, fund platforms, e-ID/signature (Itsme), KYC/AML, medical underwriting, pension trackers, and payments.
- Specify, prototype, and pilot AI agents — document classification, KID/IPID generation, suitability drafting, lapse prediction, beneficiary verification, advisor next-best-action — expert in the loop.
- Run business cases quantifying time-to-issue, advisor productivity, persistency, NPS, and cost per policy.
- Lead change management: train advisors, underwriters, and operations; redesign roles and KPIs.
- Operate inside agile teams as Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Scrum Master.
- Monitor solutions and iterate to stay aligned with evolving regulations (IDD, PRIIPs, Solvency II, IORP II, RIS, DORA, AML and the AI Act).
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, IT, or related — or equivalent experience.
- 2–8 years in Life Insurance, Pensions, Wealth, or consulting, with exposure to product, distribution, underwriting, or claims.
- Solid grasp of Life and Pension products (branch 21/23, unit-linked, group life, pillar 2/3, protection) and regulation (IDD, PRIIPs, Solvency II, IORP II, RIS).
- Strong process analysis skills: stakeholder interviews, BPMN, journey mapping, user stories, and test scenarios.
- Affinity with API-based integrations — comfortable reading API docs and shaping integration designs.
- Working knowledge of agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and tools like Jira, Confluence, and Miro.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication — fluent with actuaries, advisors, and architects alike.
- Fluency in English and Dutch or French, with passive knowledge of the other.
