About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain Python-based data pipelines that prepare financial data for analytical consumption in BigQuery
Develop dbt models following the medallion architecture to create clean, reliable datasets for self-serve analytics
Contribute to conversational analytics capabilities allowing finance users to query data using natural language
Write SQL transformations for dashboards, reports, and AI-driven insights tools
Build and maintain APIs and services delivering data to downstream analytical applications
Work with senior engineers to understand requirements and translate them into well-structured code
Partner with finance stakeholders to understand analytical needs and validate actionable solutions
Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback
Contribute to team documentation and user-facing guides
Write clear, tested code following team standards
Instrument pipelines and applications with logging, metrics, and alerting
Stay current with emerging AI and analytics technologies
Adhere to engineering and security standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
Internship or coursework experience in software engineering or data engineering
Ability to write clean, readable Python code for data processing and application development
Comfortable writing SQL queries to explore, transform, and validate data
Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and ELT/ETL patterns
Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) through coursework or projects
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when debugging data issues
Experience with BigQuery, dbt, or other modern data stack tools
Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, or conversational interfaces
Exposure to visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows
