About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of up to four analysts and data scientists within the Nordstrom Marketing Analytics team
  • Support foundational marketing measurement tools, frameworks, models, and attribution
  • Own Nordstrom’s Marketing Mix Modeling, including model refits and validations
  • Incorporate incrementality tests, geo-experiments, and attribution data to improve model performance
  • Diagnose and resolve adstock decay, multicollinearity, and channel saturation challenges
  • Optimize marketing investment toward ROAS, LTV:CAC, and customer targets
  • Communicate analytical insights through clear storytelling to audiences with varied technical expertise
  • Manage projects across competing priorities and maximize business impact
  • Partner with stakeholders to define success and develop measurement frameworks
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to stress-test marketing plans and recommend budget optimization
  • Present results to stakeholders and guide effective use of insights
  • Compile, cleanse, and analyze data to drive actionable business outcomes
  • Apply advanced analytical and statistical practices to create actionable insights
  • Deliver solutions and recommendations independently and collaboratively with team members and business partners
  • Set organizational vision and support strategies while building strong, effective, self-directed teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, operations research, or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on professional experience in Data Science and Analytics, focused on Marketing and Media Channel Analytics
  • 3–5 years of strong coding skills in at least one statistical or programming language, such as SQL, R, or Python
  • 3+ years of experience with advanced BI visualization; Tableau or Looker preferred
  • Fluency with descriptive and inferential statistical techniques, including experimental design (DOE) concepts and application
  • Proficiency in statistical techniques and selecting their appropriate application
  • Proficiency extracting large datasets from relational databases using SQL
  • BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, or Teradata preferred
  • Prior experience supporting teams of data analysts and/or data scientists
  • Background in retail, e-commerce, or omnichannel business models
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Ability to compile, cleanse, and analyze data
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to audiences with mixed technical expertise
