About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and perform on-demand and planned preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to store operations
- Operate and monitor building controls, building systems, and associated equipment
- Troubleshoot EMCS alarms and verify proper building operation
- Lead equipment and building rounds and readings
- Identify, mitigate, and report building systems and equipment malfunctions
- Perform manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
- Assist with parts ordering, PO creation, vendor management, and job/project meetings
- Promote a safe working environment and follow safety procedures, including LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding
- Attend store and vendor/project meetings in place of the Facility Manager and document outcomes
- Complete and document preventive maintenance routines; delegate and mentor technicians on system accuracy
- Assist the Facility Manager with technical training for new employees
- Respond to location emergencies
- Update the CMMS and maintain accurate equipment historical records
- Maintain parts inventory and order items as necessary
- Coordinate work with contractors, vendors, and Property Managers/Landlords
- Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency requirements, company directives, and work-safety rules
- Support multiple Nordstrom Stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node
- Help lead the facilities team to provide safe, well-maintained stores ready for daily business
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED required
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college preferred
- 5–7 years of hands-on facilities experience emphasizing mechanical maintenance
- 5+ years conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures
- 5+ years working with HVAC and refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions
- Low-voltage signal tracing and logical-device troubleshooting
- Ability to work without supervision and meet multiple deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication across organizational levels
- Safe, customer-focused working approach and high self-motivation
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and applications
- Experience with a CMMS and the Coupa ordering system
- Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure
- Experience with electromechanical operation and maintenance
- Flexible schedule availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours
- Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry 50 lbs. or more with or without reasonable accommodation
- Project management experience is a plus
