About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage a team responsible for a complex, multi-channel inventory movement platform serving stores, distribution centers, and fulfillment centers.
- Collaborate deeply with business stakeholders and cross-functional partners to understand end-to-end inventory movement use cases, translating them into scalable and consistent technical solutions.
- Drive alignment across channels and banners to reduce complexity, retiring workarounds and legacy process layering in favor of unified, well-governed solutions.
- Work with stakeholders to define and track KPIs, roadmaps, and priorities, ensuring technical investments map directly to business outcomes.
- Drive cross-team collaboration to align technical strategy, manage dependencies, and ensure shared prioritization of deliverables across partner teams.
- Champion visibility and traceability in inventory movement – ensuring that the state and history of inventory transitions are observable, auditable, and actionable.
- Ensure teams have the tools, resources, and information needed to succeed and continuously improve.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, building motivated teams that deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.
- Contribute to architecture, coding, test plans, project planning, deployment, and operations to ensure excellence in execution.
- Promote continuous improvement by quantifying customer impact, eliminating waste, increasing productivity, and shortening feedback loops.
- Champion an AI-first approach to software development – embedding AI-assisted coding, code review, and delivery practices into the team’s everyday workflow to accelerate velocity and raise the quality bar.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering
- 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- The ability to quickly ramp up on complex business domains and become a trusted technical partner to non-engineering stakeholders
- Proven track record of shipping well-designed, scalable systems tested for performance and reliability
- Experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven systems in a cloud environment
- Strong understanding of DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and production support
- Experience with agile methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
