About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the payments domain, aligned with company goals and business priorities, with growing independence
  • Measure and monitor key performance indicators across payments capabilities and provide insights for continuous improvements and feature opportunities
  • Prioritize features and develop quarterly priorities and annual backlog, accounting for complexity, impact, and cohesion with organizational strategy
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, UX, and business stakeholders to drive the right payment capabilities at the right time
  • Lead payment provider integrations — including onboarding new acquirers, wallet integrations, and Buy Now Pay Later providers — coordinating across partner teams
  • Develop expertise in payment architecture and contribute to the design of our Payment Orchestration Layer (POL) strategy, including card-not-present capabilities and tender abstraction
  • Write technical requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, influencing within your domain
  • Embed with the Engineering squad to drive development through day-to-day management of backlog, agile ceremonies, and feature releases
  • Design measurement plans and run experiments to validate payment optimizations, including approval rate improvements and fraud reduction
  • Stay current with payment industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify strategic opportunities and inform roadmap decisions
  • Work with engineering and business to balance customer value and technical effort, complexity, and risk, with minimal support.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of product management experience or equivalent, with transaction or payments experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with payment systems, payment processors, and/or payment orchestration; direct experience implementing payment providers (e.g., Braintree, Worldpay, Fiserv) a strong plus
  • Understanding of payment architecture concepts including tokenization, acquirer routing, card-not-present flows, and tender management
  • Solid technical background and understanding of software development principles, including Agile development and A/B testing methodologies
  • Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships with teams across Analytics, Engineering, UX, Finance, and Business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to various levels within a matrixed organization
  • Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics; able to independently drive roadmap adjustments based on learnings
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
