About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide employee relations support to HR Business Partners, managers, and employees through proactive guidance, coaching, and practical solutions
  • Communicate policies, guidelines, and processes to support consistent organizational application
  • Assist with performance assessments and progressive discipline, including performance improvement plans
  • Collaborate with HR partners, HR Services, and Legal on reduction-in-force actions, risk analysis, and exit process coordination
  • Conduct initial and ongoing investigations into employee complaints and disciplinary matters
  • Recommend resolutions and escalate complex or legally sensitive issues
  • Maintain thorough investigation documentation, case summaries, recommendations, and follow-up steps
  • Prepare and document involuntary terminations, including severance package administration
  • Partner with Learning and Development to support compliance and employee relations training
  • Track case trends and recommend preventive actions
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee relations processes and practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5 years of professional working experience
  • 3 years of experience leading employee relations cases
  • 1 year of experience with leave laws, FMLA, and ADA compliance preferred
  • Experience and relevant knowledge handling grievance investigations and resolutions a plus
  • Strong internal customer focus with empathy and compassion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build trust and influence managers
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and facilitation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data quality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong process and documentation orientation
  • Technically savvy with web-based platforms and case management tools
  • Knowledge of U.S. labor and employment laws; exposure to Canada and Latin America preferred
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background/criminal check
