About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sells at a level equal to, or greater than, the territory sales budget.
  • Major selling activities include qualifying leads and prospects, equipment demonstrations, testing for proper application, surveying field application.
  • Preparing and presenting proposals and project justifications
  • Closing the sale
  • Understanding Nordson’s NBS Next Strategy and promoting Top Products to Top Customers
  • Develop an industry network to increase territory awareness
  • Ensures the proper installation and start-up of all systems through proper utilization of technical personnel and personnel from ancillary equipment suppliers
  • Ensures that Powder Application Specialist is fully briefed on all aspects of new installations and the account responsibility has been effectively transferred
  • Coordinates the training of customer personnel in proper use, maintenance and service of equipment
  • Develops Third Party references through follow up calls on existing customers
  • Assists territory distributors with sales and sales training of distributor personnel
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of Nordson products, prices, policies and procedures
  • Knows which products can be most advantageously used with various finishing and coating products
  • Maintains awareness of competitive products and advises supervisor of competitors’ activities
  • Provides customer service in emergency situations
  • Assists in training of other employees as assigned
  • Prepares and promptly submits administrative and technical reports as directed
  • Maintains personal appearance, test equipment and vehicle in a professional manner
  • Maintains detailed and accurate customer files
  • Ability to travel 3 to 4 nights per week.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of capital equipment sales experience or Associates degree and 4 years of capital equipment sales experience
  • Minimum of 3 years successful experience in sales, preferably in the finishing industry, capital equipment, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated sales skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Presentations
  • Ability to make professional presentations to large groups of people
