About the role

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a territory of existing and new customers
  • Build strong, long-term relationships while driving new revenue
  • Sales of systems and parts to existing and new customers in assigned territory
  • Collaborate with Field Service Team on opportunities to sell systems and parts for customers
  • Identify new applications, system upgrades, and customer needs to recommend the best solution to improve customer operations
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of Nordson products, prices, policies, and procedures
  • Provide product and part number information to customers as requested
  • Create formal quotes when required based on customer needs
  • Meet established sales budget as assigned
  • Advise Sales and Service Leaders of new or changes in existing markets, competitor activities, and needs for new or redesigned Nordson hardware
  • Responsible for keeping up-to-date on activity reports, contacts, and opportunities in CRM system

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in technical/business discipline, military technical training, or equivalent
  • 5 years related experience (in lieu of education) required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of working a remote sales or technical support position recommended
  • Proven record of technical selling skills
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge and skills
  • Electronic knowledge and skills, including the use of typical instrumentation, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to read installation, dimension, and troubleshooting drawings, plus hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Advanced knowledge of application requirements and parameters for all Nordson applications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
