About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assemble mechanical components of wind turbines using hand tools, power tools, and overhead cranes
  • Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to ensure accurate builds
  • Perform torquing, alignment, and fit-up of gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and other large components
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Complete assigned production tasks within designated timeframes and production benchmarks
  • Lift, position, and remove materials from the work area as needed
  • Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to improve assembly processes
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support other production areas as assigned by the supervisor
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot potential production problems in coordination with PQA and Engineering
  • Assist electrical assembly operators as required
  • Promote compliance with safety regulations and company policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Mechanical certifications or technical training
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or heavy manufacturing
  • Ability to read work instructions
  • Experience in wind turbine, automotive, or industrial equipment assembly
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to completing tasks
  • Responsible and accountable for actions and decisions
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints and technical documentation
  • Experience with overhead crane operation
  • Ability to achieve and maintain required crane operator certification
  • Must be able to pass a respiratory fit test as required
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Understanding of ISO 9000:2000 Quality System is a plus
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Ability to comply with safety regulations and company policies
  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
  • Proper use of safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
  • Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Fluency in spoken and understood English required for safety and job-related communication
