About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Repair and maintain wind turbine generators and related equipment at the wind farm
  • Support 24/7/365 wind farm operations, including rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call duties
  • Conduct, support, and review safety analyses of energy sources and electrical and mechanical hazards
  • Assist in Root Cause Analyses to determine equipment failures
  • Complete and maintain accurate corrective and preventive maintenance documentation
  • Perform preventive maintenance on wind turbines and associated wind-farm equipment
  • Use safety gear and energy-control procedures to perform work safely
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSEA, and job-specific safety documentation
  • Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Use MS Office and other computer tools
  • Organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare plans and reports
  • Communicate with Site Leads and/or Site Managers to resolve technical and commercial customer concerns
  • Represent Nordex USA, Inc. professionally and support facility operations as directed by the Site Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Certification or degree in wind, technical, or engineering field preferred
  • Ability to be certified to work with medium- and high-voltage equipment
  • Experience working with hand and power tools
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb vertical ladders and work at heights above 300 feet daily
  • Maintain required training certifications and qualifications
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for work and training
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and adverse or extreme weather conditions
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, holidays, weekends, and on-call schedules
  • Weight of 265 lbs or less to safely use climbing equipment
  • Use required safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats
  • Pass a pre-employment physical
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% for training and other wind-farm sites
  • Ability to reach the wind farm within 45 minutes for emergencies
  • Full valid driver’s license and insurability under the company auto insurance policy
  • Commitment to safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and hazard mitigation
  • Fluent spoken and understood English
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Computer skills, including MS Office
