About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You perform structural calculations for internal components of wind turbines, such as platforms, brackets, and steel structures
- You evaluate bolted and welded connections in accordance with applicable standards and load cases
- You use analytical methods and numerical simulations (FEA, e.g., ANSYS) for the design and assessment of components
- You prepare auditable, certifiable reports in compliance with relevant standards such as Eurocode 3 and IEC 61400
- You analyze structural behavior, including stability failures and modal characteristics of components
- You document calculation results in a structured manner and present them to internal stakeholders
- You develop and improve methods, tools, and calculation approaches in Structural Engineering
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Several years of professional experience (approx. 5 years) in Structural Engineering or in the structural design of steel components
- Strong knowledge of Finite Element Methods (FEA), mandatory experience with ANSYS
- Experience in the design of steel structures and assessment of bolted and welded connections
- Knowledge of relevant standards such as Eurocode 3 and IEC 61400
- Experience with stability analyses, modal analyses and ideally programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB or APDL)
- Confident use of technical tools; knowledge of SpaceClaim, Creo, Mathcad or Excel is an advantage
- Very good English skills; additional German and/or Spanish skills are an advantage.
