About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and maintain a comprehensive HSE training matrix for all roles (Construction, Service, Manufacturing, Office)
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of technical and safety training programs (e.g., GWO, Fall Protection, LOTO, Electrical Safety, Confined Space, Hazard Communication)
Ensure training materials align with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA 70E, CSA, EPA, and other applicable regulations
Standardize curriculum, learning objectives, assessments, and refresher requirements across all business units
Oversee onboarding training for new hires and contractors to ensure consistent safety expectations
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local training requirements
Maintain accurate training records for internal and external audits
Evaluate instructor qualifications and ensure certifications (e.g., GWO Trainer, OSHA-authorized trainer) remain current
Conduct skills assessments and verify worker competency in field environments
Implement practical evaluations, scenario-based training, and periodic refresher programs
Analyze training effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
Participate in global or regional training standardization initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Education/Training, or related field (preferred)
5–7 years of HSE experience, with at least 3 years focused on training program
Experience in renewable energy/oil & gas, wind turbine service, construction, utilities, or industrial/manufacturing environments
Experience with GWO/IADC training programs (Preferred)
Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI Z359, NFPA 70E, CSA Group standards, and environmental regulations
Expertise in training development, adult learning methods, and competency assessment
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills
Proficient with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training tools
Field experience working with technicians or high-risk operations
Independent, detail-oriented, creative, tenacious, and flexible are essential characteristics.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy.
