About the role

  • Design and implementation of AI workflows (automations, assistants, tool‑use/agent flows) with a clear outcome focus
  • Build and evolve knowledge systems (e.g., FAQ/support knowledge, product knowledge), including reliable retrieval (RAG)
  • Structure data instead of “hoping for AI”: product data, metafields/metaobjects, clear JSON schemas, reliable inputs/outputs
  • Quality assurance for AI: evaluations/checks, guardrails, logging/monitoring, iterative improvements (stable & reproducible)
  • Integration into existing systems via APIs & webhooks (Shopify Admin/Storefront API, third‑party tools, automations)
  • Embed AI features into the Shopify UX or theme components (Liquid/sections/blocks)
  • Close collaboration with development, product/concept teams and, where applicable, UX/UI — pragmatic and solution‑oriented
  • Outcome‑driven mindset: identify problems, build solutions, present results

Requirements

  • Proven hands‑on experience with AI/automation: you have built workflows/integrations (not just used tools)
  • Solid understanding of data structures, APIs, webhooks, and robust error handling
  • Quality‑oriented: tests/evals, guardrails, logging/monitoring — not “trial & error” in production
  • Strong Shopify foundation (understanding of the ecosystem) — whether in Liquid or backend technologies (experience is a must!)
  • Self‑directed working style in a remote environment — reliable, organized, and structured
  • Team language German — fluent German is required.
