About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The US Economic Research Analyst will focus primarily on analyzing macroeconomic data – with implications for growth, inflation and the labor market – forecasting and following Federal Reserve and government policy.
- Providing rapid analysis of data releases for key economic indicators with thoughtful and concise written comments
- Developing and maintaining forecasting models (time series, panel and larger macro)
- Monitoring and analyzing real-time comments from Federal Reserve officials and their market implications
- Supporting internal stakeholders (traders and sales) with data requests and commentary
- Assisting with and participating in client meetings
- Specializing in and developing expertise in a specific sector of the US economy
- Assisting with publishing reports and updating key charts/tables
Requirements
What you’ll need- 0 – 2 years of industry experience
- Strong quantitative skillset, including a background in economics, mathematics, statistics or data science with some programming ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of economic principles
- Familiarity with some combination of Stata, EViews, Python, R, or similar
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- High level of intellectual curiosity
- Significant attention to detail
- Ability to be on-site in the NYC office 5 days per week
