Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform manual labor and maintenance tasks needed to maintain, improve, or construct facilities and areas
  • Perform preventative and ongoing maintenance on physical structures and commercial or industrial facilities
  • Clean work areas, tools, and equipment
  • Assist with repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical or mechanical equipment
  • Provide craft personnel with materials, tools, and supplies
  • Disassemble, transport, assemble, and install equipment or furnishings
  • Assemble, install, and repair ergo desks
  • Assist with clearing clogged drains and replacing plumbing fixtures
  • Remove snow, landscape materials, and other materials
  • Paint areas or equipment to prevent corrosion
  • Perform minor repairs or replacements of interior walls, ceilings, and building trim
  • Move or deliver items and materials to various locations
  • Pick up and transport trash and waste to disposal areas
  • Transport small equipment or tools between areas
  • Attend daily safety toolbox meetings
  • Complete job safety evaluations for each job
  • Notify the supervisor when safety and sanitation standards are not being met
  • Perform other duties assigned for departmental or unit success
  • Work without supervisory responsibilities in a remote camp setting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must pass pre-employment contract requirements, which may include a drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment, and hearing test
  • Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team with employees, customers, and clients
  • Ability to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision
  • Ability to remain on feet for 12 hours per shift during the scheduled rotation
  • Ability to live in dormitory-style settings and meet remote camp cleanliness requirements
  • Must speak, understand, read, and write English
  • Must meet and adhere to company and client safety guidelines and regulations
  • Must be a local hire residing within one hour of Tok, Alaska
  • Ability to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to knuckle
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. from floor to shoulders
  • Ability to carry 40 lbs. with two hands for at least 30 feet
  • Ability to perform continuous stooping, twisting, squatting, stair-climbing, ladder-climbing, and shoveling tests
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in arctic conditions, with moderate to loud noise and occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals
