About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct investigations of assigned non-medical quality incidents
- Coordinate and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Collaborate with Operations, Medical Services, other NMDP departments, and network center staff to resolve quality incidents
- Use the online quality management software system to facilitate and record incident management activity
- Conduct preliminary investigations, remedial actions, risk assessments, and submit completed investigations for review and approval
- Determine root causes for assigned CAPA investigations
- Plan and recommend corrective or preventive action plans and effectiveness checks
- Implement, monitor, and document corrective/preventive actions and associated tasks
- Conduct, monitor, and document CAPA effectiveness checks and results
- Submit CAPA reports for final review and closure
- Participate in projects involving incident management processes and systems, regulatory compliance, and process improvement
- Maintain current knowledge of operational processes through internal meetings, education, and training
- Perform other duties supporting NMDP’s mission and goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree; Healthcare or Science field strongly preferred
- Equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for the degree requirements
- Five years of experience in a healthcare or science environment
- Two years of experience related to investigation and resolution of complaints and non-conformances
- Knowledge of quality assurance, risk management, and confidentiality principles
- Strong knowledge of cellular therapy transplantation and associated operations
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Advanced interpersonal skills for collaborating with others to gather information
- Complex problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making abilities
- Customer service skills
- Proficiency in relevant NMDP computer software applications
- Proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and databases preferred
- May require some flexibility in work hours
- Certification in process improvement or another quality management function preferred
