About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Senior Manager, Product leads the Product Center of Excellence for NMDP’s product development and management portfolio.
- The leader supports the Vice President, Product and other Product leaders of developing, integrating and updating NMDP’s Product Portfolio strategy, annual and quarterly roadmaps and business outcomes.
- This role leads the development and updates of the Product organization’s ways of working, including partnering with IT on the product agile model, tools and training.
- Additionally, this role will be the Product leader for the day-to-day execution of the Product workstream within the Product Model Transformation.
- Leads the team responsible for developing/contributing to NMDP’s portfolio product strategy and integrated strategic product roadmap development.
- Stands-up and leads the Product Center of Excellence (COE) from defining Product methodologies, ways of working, templates, and tools.
- Works closely with IT to the product agile model, tools, training and coaching.
- Partners with HR on Product onboarding, training and learning plan.
- Develops and coordinates product strategy and materials for key audiences and approvals - ET and Board.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven leader who understands healthcare/biopharma products and services and is experienced at influencing internal teams (Finance, IT, sales, marketing, operations) and developing product strategies, roadmaps and product management.
- Demonstrated leadership in product development.
- Product management methodologies, product agile, business case development, pricing strategies.
- Work with broad cross-functional teams with ability to sell ideas and plans to internal constituencies, executives, customers, and partners.
- Build transformational product strategies/ roadmaps.
- Effectively lead and grow a product management and cross-functional product development teams, including large technology initiatives.
- Leverage an entrepreneurial mindset and instill this in others.
- Lead in an innovative and changing environment with the objective of testing, learning and iterating to continually improve products and services.
- Effectively work with all levels of the organization.
- Keep an external-focus and become the go-to for market insights and opportunities.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills – can rapidly connect with people – plus the ability to establish credibility among various external and internal constituencies.
- Demonstrated record of success in identifying new issues, trends and opportunities driven by data and customer insights.
- BA or BS in business, management, healthcare or related discipline desired.
- Minimum 5-7 years of directly related work experience, within the healthcare industry.
- 2-4 years of experience on a product agile team.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively and leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
- Experience leading innovation/ new product initiatives from idea through launch.
